Meet Our Trainer

 Nikki McGaughey

KPA CTP, SDC

Our trainer, Nikki McGaughey KPA CTP, SDC

Nikki has been training in the Erie area for over ten years.  Graduating from Gannon University with her biology degree in 2014, she realized dog training was her passion.  She trained at PetSmart for nine years was trusted to train trainers for stores across the company. 

 

Most recently she attended Karen Pryor Academy and passed her training and teaching assessments with perfect scores.  Currently, is attending Cooperative Paws Service Dog Coach program.  She is also a Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dogs United evaluator as well as a member of IAABC.

Hobbies include managing her dogs social calendar and snapping photos for their 50,000 followers on @Catchingupwithcobalt on Instagram.

 

Meet Cobalt

Cobalt is a Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs United. In his time off, he enjoys modeling for his 50K Instagram followers and staring at walls.

Meet Loki

Loki is a Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs United. He enjoys teaching reactive dogs that other dogs aren't so bad. In his time off, he enjoys working for all the treats and attention he can get.

Our New Facility!

Located at 8321 Hamot Road in Erie, PA!

Scholars In Collars Academy isn’t just a training facility, it is our home.  Located on five and a half acres with 5600 square feet of indoor area, as well as secure, outdoor areas, it is a dog's dream come true.  We offer board and train, day training, and group classes, as well as day camps for past clients.

During their time here, your dog could be on leash hikes through the woods, romping with other dogs during day camps and day training, or lazing in the warm sun.  We pride ourselves in having a sanitary, enriching, and welcoming atmosphere.
